Long Letter Home
 

Welcome to Long Letter Home, 2024, 10x30x40 feet, an almost ninety foot illuminated scroll of photographs suspended in the shape of two overlapping infinities. The size and meandering shape of the scroll fragments the viewing experience focusing their interaction on one section of the scroll at a time. Reimagine "scrolling" as reading a mysterious ancient text, now rendered through digital photographs.  This work harkens back to old-fashioned letter writing where the author writes down one part at a time while attempting to recollect the whole story tracing the outline of the larger shape.  The installation confronts the viewer with the impossibility of perceiving immediately the entirety of the work, which reveals itself slowly, one step at a time.
